In this particular plan, a limited number of participants will have the chance to learn how to make sushi from a local sushi professional in Sapporo, often known as the mecca of sushi in Japan.

Fresh cut sashimi and sushi rice aren’t the only ingredients to a good sushi – there’s also a need to learn how to actually make the nigiri from a professional. This class will not only teach the participants the skills and finesse needed to make good sushi, but also the chance to eat the delicious nigiri’s made by themselves! Participants might even have the chance of hosting the next most talked about house party back home!

With the sushi making class, participants can venture out afterwards to enjoy the night scenery of Sapporo via a nighttime tour as well. Depending on the season, the guide can bring participants around seasonal events and illuminations. The official tour itself ends at 9:30pm, but participants can feel free to continue exploring nighttime Sapporo with each other if they wish! This program gives participants the chance to learn how to make soba noodles from a local professional. One might imagine a stiff old man when they picture a Japanese craftsman, but the teachers for this program are all friendly and have plenty of experience teaching visitors from abroad, so no worries here! No need to worry even if you have minimal prior cooking experience.

The classes will be held at Kikoan, a traditional soba specialty shop that boasts a traditional Japanese interior. It’s time to challenge yourself to making soba noodles during your next visit to Hokkaido!喜香庵

There’s also a premium plan that lets participants enjoy their soba noodles with a pairing of four types of Japanese sake. Reward yourself with tasty sake for tackling a new challenge. Of course, non-alcoholic options are available for minors as well.

 

There’s also a plan that teaches the Japanese art of chado, or tea ceremony as well. The instructors will come from the Omotesenke school of tea ceremony. The instructors will provide a crash course on the art of tea ceremonies, from the proper way to enter a room, the way to sit, and the way to enjoy the tea itself. Participants can enjoy a zen moment while partaking in this class.

In this particular plan, participants will hop on a call in Sapporo and visit wineries just outside of Sapporo – notable ones being Iwamizawa and Mikasa.

These tours will let participants walk along the vineyards up close, learn about the process of wine making, and wrap up the tour with a wine tasting session. Depending on the time of day, participants can pair the wines with lunch or dinner that showcases locally-grown products. All beef distributing in Japan is evaluated based on its quality, and only 10-15% beef can get A5 rank, meaning the best.
