Plan Introduction(Soba Making Experience)
Kikouan is a traditional soba restaurant located in Sapporo.
It serves the “Nihachi” style (20% wheat flour and 80% buckwheat flour) soba, which is said to be the golden ratio when making soba since the Edo era.
This is a rare opportunity to learn soba making from the experts.
Soba is one of the most well known Japanese cuisines and this is your chance to make your own.
Anyone can join as there is no cooking experience needed.
“Japanese craftsmen” often stimulate images of people who might be difficult to approach, but this plan will pair you up with an approachable craftsman who is highly skilled in making buckwheat noodles, or soba.
Once initial preparations are done, you will be underway making soba!
Kikouan has a calm and warm ambiance.
Once the soba making is finished, participants will be able to taste their own soba!
Feel free to take a career in soba making after making your own!
In this plan, each group will make 5 servings (500g) of soba.
Most will eat at the restaurant, but any leftover can be taken home.
The restaurant is conveniently located within walking distance from the nearest train station.
Don’t miss your chance to make your own soba.
