Plan Introduction (Fat Bike in the Great Nature of Lake Shikotsu)
This is a fat bike tour to enjoy Hokkaido’s unique nature around Lake Shikotsu throughout the year.
In this tour, you will ride a fat bike born in Alaska to enjoy Hokkaido’s nature around Lake Shikotsu.
Fat bikes are Alaskan-born bicycles that were developed for riding on harsh winter roads.
The tires are wider than normal bicycles, so you can ride freely even on roads that are difficult to ride off-road or on snow.
This tour is available all year round and takes you to the Shikotsu Toya National Park, where 90% of the land is still untouched by nature.
This plan is available all year round and takes you to Nanajo Otaki.
During the green season, the forest roads of the Shikotsu-Toya National Park are full of greenery and offer amazing views that will make you forget about your daily stress.
Riding a fat bike surrounded by greenery is sure to detoxify you!
There are some ups and downs, so if you are worried about your physical strength, we recommend that you get used to the experience beforehand.
In the winter season, we will enjoy fat biking on forest roads where the snow has fallen and the world is a silvery white.
The destination, Nanajo Otaki, has clean water that is used as the source of drinking water for the city.
The experience of riding a fatbike over the snow is a rare one.
As you ride through the forest road, you will definitely feel an extraordinary feeling.
Furthermore, the sight you will encounter at Nanajo Otaki in winter is truly spectacular!
Known as the “Ice Palace,” you can enjoy the gradation of frozen icicles.
This plan is not only for pedaling fat bikes, but also for enjoying a little adventure experience in a nature park in the middle of winter, so please look forward to it!
After the experience, you can use the half-price ticket for the Marukoma Onsen that comes with this plan to completely heal your body from the tour or you can take a stroll around the hot spring town around the area.
You can also take advantage of discounts at nearby shopping malls, so you can buy memorabilia to add color to your trip.
You’ll be given a thorough lecture, so even beginners can participate without worry!
