Asahiyama Zoo is one of the most popular zoos in Japan, having won the top prize for the number of visitors.
It is no exaggeration to say that it is one of the most popular tourist spots in Hokkaido, and has been made into a movie and a TV drama.
Asahiyama Zoo is located in Asahikawa City in the center of Hokkaido, and is characterized by the fact that the exhibits change between summer and winter.
Inside the zoo, there is the Marine Way, where you can observe the distinctive swimming of the seals, which many people have seen before.
If you are lucky, you can see a cute red panda walking on top of your head.
There is also the Polar Bear Pavilion,
and the Penguin Museum.
