Plan Introduction (Beginners Welcome! Snowmobile Trail Plan)
This plan is a light activity that allows you to enjoy snowmobiling in Tokachi for as little as 15 minutes.
The plan takes place at the Tokachi Nature Center, a 20-minute drive from Obihiro Station, not far from the Tokachi River, which is known for its rich variety of fish.
Tokachi is an area of rich nature, where you can enjoy the endless horizon, cattle and horse grazing, and other peaceful scenery that you would expect to see in Hokkaido.
A snowmobile is a motorbike-like vehicle for riding on snow.
When you go to a ski resort, you may have seen the staff on the slopes gliding up the snowy mountain, and the vehicle they are using is a snowmobile.
Snowmobiles are one- or two-seater vehicles that are designed only to travel on snow and ice.
It is a vehicle like a motorcycle, but you don’t need a driver’s license to drive it on private roads. Snowmobiling is something that can only be enjoyed in the deep snow of Hokkaido.
This plan is especially recommended for those who are interested in snowmobiling but are not sure how to do it for the first time, or for those who want to spend more time sightseeing.
This plan usually takes more than two hours, but you can enjoy a 15-minute snowmobile ride with the basic course, or about an hour with the short tour.
Choose the Basic Course if you just want to experience the simple operation, or choose the Short Tour if you want to ride around a bit with a lecture included.
Pressing the gas pedal and riding through the snow will give you an exhilarating experience that is completely different from other snow activities such as skiing and snowboarding!
The snowmobile is very stable, so even first-timers can experience it with ease.
It’s also great that you can participate in this activity without any prior preparation, as the expert guides will give you a thorough lecture.
We recommend that you try the basic course or short tour first to get a feel for the course, and then try the freeride plan for the next step.

*We can lend you a helmet, so you do not need to wear a knit cap.
