Otaru Canal

otarukanal

The Otaru Canal is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Otaru.
The Otaru Canal was built for the purpose of transporting herring more efficiently.
The stone warehouses that were used at that time have been preserved, and the canal streetscape has been selected as one of the 100 best urban landscapes.

The scenery along the canal is cool in the summer, and in the winter, the snow lights make a nice accent, and is sure to be photogenic!

Sakai-machi Street

Sakai-machi Street is one of the most popular tourist spots in Otaru.
You can see Otaru’s famous products such as glassworks and music boxes.

Historical Buildings

As mentioned earlier, there are many historical buildings in Otaru that were built when the city was a financial district and flourished through herring fishing.

This cab tour will take you to some of these historical buildings, such as the former Otaru branch of the NYK Line and the Bank of Japan Museum.

We will visit the above spots, but we can change some of them if you ask us in advance.
You can also extend the time by 30 minutes (+3,150 yen), so please feel free to contact us.

Otaru is a hilly city, and it requires a certain level of physical strength to walk around on your own. Therefore, it is recommended to use a professional guide who knows the city well and a sightseeing taxi!
The taxi driver will be a professional guide who knows Otaru very well, so you will be able to get a lot of knowledge and information that you cannot find in the guidebook.
Depending on availability, reservations can be made on the day of the tour, so please join us!
